Home Kong 3, Neon with glass tubing (Neon, Argon & Mercury), 2019, University of Wisconsin - Madison: Neon signs have become an indelible part of the streets and skyline in my hometown (Hong Kong) since the post World War II era. The pawn shop sign, “押” is especially a very iconic neon sign in Hong Kong. However, most of the pawn shop signs have been taken down because the neon industry in Hong Kong is fading. Normally, the name of the pawn shop is placed above the green circle. Instead of making up a name for the pawn shop sign, another iconic symbol of Hong Kong - the junk boat is placed in there, representing these features are found only in Hong Kong.

念, Neon with clear glass tubing (Argon & Mercury), 2019, University of Wisconsin - Madison: The word “念” means missing or always thinking about someone or something (想念, 掛念). This word is something that I come across every day since I always think about or miss people that I love, as well as happy memories.
The Symbol of Me, Neon with glass tubing (Argon & Mercury), 2018, University of Wisconsin - Madison: Innocent and pure meanings of gypsophila (baby’s breath), my love of music, the letter “J” from my name, vase for the flowers...
