Allemande, Digital Printmaking, 2020, University of Wisconsin - Madison: Allemande is a piece of music in C major. Under the music sheet, there is a soundwave of a C note. It shows the connection between the tradition way of reading music which has a long history – music sheet and the rather new way of reading sound and music – soundwave.

Tranquility - Adagio (left) & Allegro (right), Digital Printmaking, 2019, University of Wisconsin - Madison: A piece of music with two movements was composed on cello - Adagio, a soft and smooth melody; Allegro, a fast and harsh melody. A sharp needle was attached at the tip of the cello bow while the piece was being played. The movement of the bow made scratches on a film. Then, the film was exposed onto a plate and printed.

Strings in Space, Installation, 2019, SRISA Florence Italy: This installation is process-oriented, where the artwork is viewed as a creative journey or process, rather than as a deliverable or end product. Emphasis is not only placed on the process of creating the artwork, but also the experience of looking at the optical illusion produced by different perspectives and angles created with the strings. The strings represent musical movement, as they recall various string instruments and look like lines of sheet music that are travelling everywhere in and out.
Cubicello, Wood Sculpture, 2019, SRISA Florence Italy: I have chosen to make a cello in an abstract form because I am a cellist and I am interested in how I can deconstruct the structure of an instrument and bring different views of the parts together in the same space and picture. I was inspired by the cubism artworks created by Pablo Picasso and George Braque, such as the painting, “Violin and Grapes.” I would like to see how the cubist music instruments that they created on paintings look like in three dimensions. By breaking objects and figures down into distinct areas, I am aiming to show different viewpoints at the same time and within the same space.
Wings of Hope, Fired Clay & Plaster, 2019, SRISA Florence Italy: The two broken wings symbolize a person who has been deeply hurt emotionally. However, Wings of Hope shows that a broken wing still in fact symbolizes freedom and that no matter what happens, there is still hope. The movement of the feathers and feathers dropping on the ground in general, however, do not create any sounds, which is a playful contrast with my other works that reference imagined music and sound, and yet are inaudible.
